that’s great! i didn’t know they were that close though (must’ve been great for the invasions)
is it true that Danes speak as if they had hot potatoes in their mouth? a Swede told me that once

Dane here. Yes, we do speak like we have a potato in our mouths. And yes, being so close was/is good for invasions. Actually, both countries used to have canons pointed at each other at all times and there is a law that if the Swedes cross the ice during winter (which they did once upon a time to attack) you are allowed to pick up a stick and beat them with it. Yes, that law is still active today. Lovely sibling rivalry between our two countries.

i love scandinavia

the danes are trying to develop a new secret language the rest of scandinavia can’t understand

hollywood was trying to warn us

Anonymous said: I would really love to "get into" French culture/history/etc. And am not sure where to start. Any suggestions? Thank you, friend! ^_^

well the best way would be to spend some time in France (if you’re European, using Erasmus to study here is an excellent way to get to know the country and student life) and start studying the language. you can also read “classic” French books (by Victor Hugo, Albert Camus, Emile Zola…) and follow blogs dedicated to French culture (awesomefrench is great). get a French penpal if u can, there are a lot of French people on penpal websites.

i’m vry happy that you’re interested in our culture friend <3
